 Product Description

The Rag Company PLUFFLE Microfiber Drying Towel

Introducing one of the most unique high-quality drying/detailing towels ever produced - The Platinum PLUFFLE. It's half-Plush/half-Waffle construction, also known as Hybrid Weave, creates an ultra-wicking action unlike any towel we have ever tested against.

Silky-soft premium plush Korean 70/30 blend fibers separated by waffle divots create a level of absorbency previously only imagined.  Add The Rag Company's exclusive world-class ButterSoft™ 70/30 Suede Border and the PLUFFLE is truly in a league of its own.  The Platinum PLUFFLE - a great addition to The Rag Company's signature lineup of super plush microfiber towels and the #1 selling choice of numerous automobile manufacturers, collector car clubs, detailers, and enthusiasts everywhere!

At Esoteric, we love the Platinum PLUFFLE simply based on how ridiculously it can absorb water! Because of the PLUFFLE's unique Hybrid Weave construction, it has the ability to absorb more water than any other towel...EVER. Coupled with the high-quality microfiber from The Rag Company, and you've got a towel that will serve as one of your favorite detailing tools for years to come!

For best results, look to use the PLUFFLE by first spritzing it with either water or your favorite drying aid. If we are using a drying aid, we will use Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer or Jescar Paint Refresh. Apply a few sprays to each side of the towel, then dry away! If you are not using a drying aid, then simply spray some water on the towel and go to town!

Care Instructions

  • Always wash new microfiber towels before you use them
  • Wash your microfibers with like-colors to avoid dye transfer from darker towels to lighter towels
  1. Like all high quality microfiber towels (especially the awesome towels from The Rag Company!), machine wash your microfibers with a microfiber-specific detergent like Micro-Restore or Gyeon TowelWash. Do not wash your microfibers with any cotton fabrics, and do not use any fabric softeners!
    • TIP: You can use any temperature water in the wash process. At Esoteric, we prefer warm to hot water.
  2. Dry your microfiber towels on low heat, without dryer sheets. Do not iron your microfibers (we've never heard of someone doing this, but you never know!).
    • At Esoteric, we like to dry on low heat for a longer time period, rather than drying more quickly on a higher heat. The hotter the towels get in the drying process, the higher the probability that they individuals fibers will melt together, losing their softness and absorbency.

  1. Excellent choice no matter the drying method...

Posted by KF on 25th Jan 2018

Glad to see these available in the Esoteric store. Soft, plush and absorbent, have been using the Pluffle’s for a while now. Using either the blotting or dragging method for drying residual water after a flood rinse, generally a single Pluffle will suffice, followed by a second to clean up any leftover areas. They do perform a little better once a little dampness gets into them so if dragging, the first section/drag is enough to dampen them to their truly effective state.

Where they really excel for me, more so than a waffle weave or something like a Gyeon Silk Dryer (also an excellent choice for blotting/dragging), is when using with a drying aid. I generally use Kamikaze Overcoat as a drying aid and a spritz or two on the Pluffle (per panel) is an easy way to make drying quicker and more effective while also adding the great protection Overcoat provides. The Pluffles softness and absorbency seem to be the perfect complement to drying aids, lessening the chances for streaking while still providing smooth, soft, no-marring drying. Used with the Pluffles, a single 250ml can of Overcoat lasted me from April 2017 thru November 2017 using as drying aid on 3 cars with bi-weekly/weekly washes so I tend to think the Pluffles + Overcoat provide more frequent application of protection while reducing overall product usage. I dunno, the Pluffle + drying aid combo really works well for me and with 2 black cars, any swirling or marring from poor drying would be evident…and I have not seen any indications of this.

I’ve generally replaced my Pluffles every year, using the previous year’s towels to wipe down wheels and door jambs. If your wheels are coated with something like Gyeon Rim or Kamikaze Stance, a ‘demoted’ Pluffle is a great choice for drying and pretty much come out clean after drying a coated wheel.

All around great towels for drying using a variety of methods, happy to see them in the store.
