Once you try the High Performance, made in Japan, auto detailing tape from KAMIKAZE, you'll never want to go back to the cheap stuff again!
This is the absolute best and easiest to work with tape that we have ever used...and we have tried a lot. It's easy to work around corners, it easily conforms to uneven surfaces, and it doesn't get adhesive residue everywhere like most others will. One of the biggest differences you'll notice is when you're wiping off polish residue by the edge of a taped area. Most tapes will release adhesive on the edges, which gets into your microfiber towel, which then sticks all over the surface that you just spent so much time polishing! But with the Kamikaze Auto Detailing Tape, you won't experience that.
And for those working on delicate surfaces, or vintage cars, you'll want a tape like this to be gentle and not cause any problems with peeling paints, chromes, or other.
Sure, it's a premium compared to other products on the market, but once you use it, you'll realize it's worth every penny!

This tape is a must have for serious polishing and correction. I will never use another type of tape to mask sensitive areas again!
This stuff works so much better than the green 3m auto masking tape. The edges dont peel up when it ges wet and it leaves no residue at all. It's also safe to overlap with a polisher. Absolutely worth every penny!
I hate the cost, but I love the tape. This stuff is just so easy to work with. Try one roll and you'll find yourself always wanting to use it. I do have wide painter's tape i use for big trim pieces, but for window trim, door trim and the like, this is great stuff.
After years of using various 3M products, this is such an improvement. It sticks perfectly and yet it doesn't leave any streaks when you take it off.
Only so so complaint is that one iz only enough for a smaller size vehicle (just finished civic coupe) so price eventually can build up...
Anyway- honest recommendation.
I have used regular "painters" tape and 3M green automotive tape for masking the various trim pieces and PPF edges on my vehicles. Although they both worked well, I would occasionally get residue on my MF towel during removal of polishes. This residue would then transfer to the area I just polished. This was very frustrating to say the least. I decided to try the Kamikaze tape after I picked up a few roles during the Esoteric Open house. I used the tape to mask the edges of the PPF on my vehicle and then proceeded to polish the painted area of the body panel. I wiped the panel down without removing the tape and was very pleased to see that no residue had transferred to my MF. I have now used this tape exclusively and have had no issue with residue. I can honestly say this product has made a significant impact on the quality of my detailing.
This is one of the best detailing tapes currently in the market. It is nice and thin allowing it to hug contours better, tacky yet still low-tac for easy removal and no residue left on the paint. What I like best of all is the small diameter it comes in (think scotch tape sized) as this makes it easier to hold while applying around windows and trim.
